200HR Yoga Teacher Training Brisbane
For well over a decade, my yoga teacher training course has been known throughout Brisbane, Australia for producing yoga teachers with an extraordinary depth of knowledge and skill. Now limited to just twelve students each intake, the intimate learning environment attracts an exceptional group of students every year.
There will be a free virtual class and meeting on Tuesday 31 May – click HERE to book. Feel free to join us around 7:30 to attend the meeting only if you can’t make the class!
With a passion for sharing the practice of yoga with physical clarity and relevance to 21st-century life, this course is crafted from my twenty-plus years of teaching experience in the US, Australia and abroad. Guided by (but not limited to) the principles of Anusara Yoga™ the course is offered over 11 months, allowing you to fully integrate the teachings into your daily life. If you want to learn to teach yoga, this collaborative, shared learning experience is the perfect way to earn your certificate. If you’re already teaching, this course might provide some perspective that will serve you on your teaching journey.
Our 12 months together will be a journey of self-discovery and deep learning. The curriculum combines detailed asana, philosophy, and teaching techniques with an emphasis on clear language, critical thinking, and creativity. You’ll finish the course with the knowledge and skill needed to teach yoga safely and effectively.
The course focuses on three main areas of study: Yoga Theory and Practice, Yoga Philosophy, and The Art of Teaching. Also included in the course are training on anatomy, meditation, and pranayama (breathwork). Upon successful completion of the course, you may then register with Yoga Alliance and/or Yoga Australia at the 200-hour level, and be recognised as a qualified yoga teacher anywhere in the world.
Fully Prepared
The course curriculum covers everything you need to equip you to begin your journey as a teacher. Yoga Methodology, Yogic Psychology, Anatomy and Physiology, and The Art of Teaching are presented in a way that honours the ancient wisdom of the practice with an emphasis on how to communicate the traditional teachings in a way that’s relevant to life in today’s world.
You’ll receive a comprehensive manual that, along with your notes and handouts, will serve as an extensive reference library for years to come.
As a graduate, your deep understanding of practice, theory, and clear communication will set you apart in your ability to not just guide your students in and out of poses, but to touch their hearts.
Refinement through practice and mentoring
It’s one thing to practice teaching your fellow trainees who have ample experience on the mat, but quite another to teach someone who is new to the practice. A key focus of our training is to ensure that you are confident and ready to work with a wide variety of students. Nothing prepares you better for that than teaching the general public in our community classes and receiving feedback and mentorship in a caring, supportive environment. Working together in this way you’ll progress rapidly, and move beyond nervousness so you can focus on refining your communication and developing your own unique voice as a teacher.
Revealing the true teacher within
This collaborative learning experience will take you on a journey of self-discovery and deep inquiry. If you have a love of yoga, and a passion to become the best teacher you can be, I can’t wait to support you through this life-changing process.
