Bure, pronounced boo-ray, is a traditional Fijian dwelling. Toberua has sixteen bures and that’s it. No lobby bar crowds, no resort energy. Just a small island, a small group, and a week to exhale. Six days of barefoot luxury with authentic Bula spirit. This is a week to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and be gently held by the beauty of the island and the warmth of the group.
Why Toberua?
This will be my fifth visit to this small private island, and I keep coming back for the same reason: it works.
The quiet is so profound that it takes time to get used to. No TV, no cars, no aeroplanes. Just water and birds and the music of the Fijians who play and sing at mealtimes. Without the usual background noise, people put down whatever they’ve been carrying and start to glow. Strangers become friends. It happens every time, and it never gets old.
Just getting there is part of it. The boat ride across the lagoon sets the tone before you’ve even unpacked.

Your Arrival
The transition into island time begins the moment you land in Suva. After a drive that feels like an adventure in itself, you get aboard the boat that will take you to the island. If you arrive in daylight, the ride across the water is stunning. If you arrive after dark, it’s a different kind of magic altogether. A little wild, a little disorienting, and completely unforgettable. Either way, you’ll be greeted at the dock by the sounds of the island band and the genuine, happy smiles of a team that are strangers when you arrive and friends when you depart.

Oceanfront Bures. Every traditional, handcrafted bure is
nestled just steps from the water’s edge. Enjoy your morning coffee on your private deck, listening to the gentle lap of the lagoon and the rustle of palms in the island breeze.
Island-to-Table Gourmet. Our chefs prepare three stunning gourmet meals daily, featuring the freshest local seafood and organic produce. From long, lazy lunches to dinner under the tropical stars, every meal is a celebration of island flavours tailored to our group.
Barefoot Luxury. Experience the true magic of Fiji—waking to the sound of tropical birds, the soft scent of frangipani in the air, and the warm “Bula” spirit that makes this private island sanctuary feel immediately like home.
Not a yogi? Not a problem! There is plenty of downtime and lots of things to do for non-yogi partners and friends. Scuba diving, deep sea fishing, kayaking, snorkelling, and a hammock with your name on it. We have had partners and friends every year, and they add so much to the group!

*Please note: The Fijian government has introduced a Tourism Services Tax of 5%, effective 1 September 2026. This will be added to your final balance. The exact amount will depend on the exchange rate at the time of invoicing but will be approximately AUD$120 per person.

Toberua is Pure Magic ✨
Toberua is a five-acre private island in the Lomaiviti Group. It is an intimate sanctuary with only sixteen bures nestled along the shore. You can snorkel directly off the beach into the turquoise lagoon or play a round of the famous low tide reef golf. The island is surrounded by white sand and vibrant coral, and the kind of quiet that’s hard to find anywhere else.
