Teacher Training
My mission is to provide educational excellence by offering a broad range of opportunities for learning and growth for yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners. Over the last 11 years I’ve offered a widely sought-after teacher training as well as a host of unique education opportunities via my studio, Shri Yoga. Since the closing of the studio, I’m thrilled to offer this newly revamped 12-month course. I’ve limited the capacity in order to create a space where long-term relationships are formed, and learning is deep, collaborative, and most importantly - integrated into daily life.

The Art of Teaching
The Art of Teaching is a continuing education program designed for yoga teachers who want to stay on the path of learning and set their classes apart. Designed by Julie Smerdon, The Art of Teaching stems from her desire to create relevant and affordable educational opportunities for yoga teachers.
I can't praise Julie's teacher training programme enough. I had been practising yoga for many years before I went to Julie's classes and very quickly I found that through her alignment and energy cues my body was beginning to open and change. I was intrigued, addicted and wanted to learn and develop my yoga practice further. I wasn't sure about whether I wanted to be a yoga teacher or not but I thought I would start on the journey. In 2013, I did Julie's yoga intensives which were a wonderful mind blowing experience! I can't believe how much I learnt in 6 months. Julie took us step by step through the fundamentals of safe and optimum yoga alignment, yoga philosophy, meditation, the importance of the breath...wow, it was a life changing experience. Every weekend built on the last and I was shocked at how quickly openings occurred in my body. Julie created a positive, safe, encouraging and exciting learning environment where everyone thrived....and she made it fun!

Julie creates a beautiful environment that is not only welcoming, but safe. Safe to share, learn and ask questions, nothing is ever silly and Julie is so generous with her insights and knowledge. Julie creates a beautiful feeling of community and a space that is respectful, supportive and fun. One that I am excited and proud to be part of. I know that I am now equipped with great knowledge and confidence to be an even better teacher to serve the community.

I wanted to say a big thank you for all you did for the group last year, and for your ongoing support for teachers. It was honestly one of the best things I have ever done. I learnt so much and to be guided by you was a real privilege.

I love Julie’s refreshingly down to earth style, big heart and great humour! She is a rare teacher who’s incredible depth of knowledge and skill is matched by an uncanny ability to communicate and inspire, making even the most difficult concepts easy to understand. She will transform your practice and your teaching!

My eyes and heart have been blown open by all that I've learned in this intensive program. The endless knowledge and effort that Julie puts into her program is phenomenal. Body mind and spirit are united in such a beautiful and delicate way. I would recommend this course to anyone who is passionate about yoga!"
